Albert Leslie Armstrong

Career Civil Servant / Archaeologist

Biography Armstrong, reportedly a civil servant in a highly responsible position, spent his annual leave in archaeological digging, mostly in Derbyshire and Suffolk. He was involved in controversy when he claimed to find proof of Neolithic 'worship of the Earth Goddess' in 1939.
