Biography The Rattlesnake was a Royal Navy frigate that was converted to a survey ship in 1845 and broken up in 1860. [Alison Petch [as part of 'The Other Within' project 2006-9] 04/05/2007]It has been assumed that the relevant object was collected by John Thomson when on the HMS Rattlesnake, but it may have been collected at some other time.
