Biography Puppetmaker and puppeteer. Walter Wilkinson became interested in puppets before the First World War in Italy and tried to revive the puppet theatre in England. In the 1920s and 1930s he travelled through English country villages with his puppets on a hand barrow, giving shows [Alison Petch [as part of 'The Other Within' project 2006-9] 06/03/2007]
