English collections Army and navy revolver. Issued to Eric Hudson, a manager of the New Zealand Insurance Co. during the Boxer Rising, the revolver then passed to his oldest son Eric Carew Hudson of the Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry, who saw active service during the 1914-18 war in Flanders and Gallipoli. It was also carried by John Sewell Hudson (2nd son of Eric Hudson) of the Kings African Rifles throughout the 1939-45 war in Kenya, Ethiopia and Madagascar. The revolver was last in service during the Mau Mau Rising in Kenya, where it was carried by Christopher Temples of the Kenya Police (a grandson of Eric Hudson)
