Amulet Trail: Small Blessings project

This trail is part of the 'Small Blessings' project, funded by the Designation Challenge Fund (Arts Council England) in 2012. The project explored several thousand amulets collected by French ethnologist Adrien de Mortillet in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and originally deposited at the Wellcome Institute in London before being transferred to the Pitt Rivers Museum in 1985.

Before this project, these fascinating and intriguing items had not been catalogued, photographed or researched. Visit the project website to discover more about de Mortillet and find a range of resources including video interviews, image galleries and a project blog.
