Puppet, China

This glove, or finger, puppet is from Shenyang in the north of China. Northern Chinese hand puppets are only about three inches tall. The puppets play on a portable stage that the puppeteer carried on his shoulders. The puppeteer works the puppets, speaks or sings the characters’ parts, and plays music.
