Ganjifa playing cards, India

The standard pack of playing cards consists of four suits – hearts, spades, clubs, and diamonds. However, in many countries local forms of cards have continued to exist as well. Indian playing cards, ganjifa, are round and brightly coloured. They have 8, 10, or 12 suits. This is an example of a 10-suit ganjifa. Each suit is presided over by one incarnation of the Hindu god, Vishnu.
