Sundried pot, Egypt

Rather than being fired in a kiln or bonfire, some vessels are simply dried in the sun. This pot has been moulded quickly and sun-dried. It is extremely fragile and would have been intended only for local use, to be discarded when broken. It was made some time before 1940, probably in Egypt.
