Double-handled pot, Algeria

This double handled pottery vessel has been painted brown, with black and yellow designs. It was made by a Kabyle Berber potter some time before 1900. The hand-painted designs include geometric motifs. Such motifs are extremely common in Berber design, and appear on pottery, textiles, and leather.
