Acquired by exchange with the Government Museum, Sarawak in 1903

This small basket contains a ‘water-worn’ pebble. It
was used by an Iban manang, or shaman healer, from the
Sarawak region of Borneo to counteract evil omens. The pebble was
used at the end of a Pelian healing ceremony.
