These darts come from the north-east of India, perhaps Assam or Nagaland, where use of the blowpipe has a similar history to the multitude of other Naga cultural traits shared with various peoples of the Philippines and Borneo. The lightweight shafts are made of bamboo with sharpened tips and the conical butts, which enable the dart to sit snugly in the pipe, are made of palm leaf tied on with string.
