Edkins, William; Biography: Collected pottery and porcelain which was sold via Sotheby's in 1891. He lived in Bristol according to the catalogue, and may have been a builder who donated pottery and glass to 'the nation' in 1887, see following website. Egger, Samuel; Biography: The British Museum has items from a Samuel Egger from the same sale [25 June 1891] so this must definitely the right person for that sale. He is described by the BM as a 'Doctor (in title), Austro-Hungarian male, active in the late nineteenth century'. Other websites suggest he was based in Vienna, but he seems to have been based in Pest (of Budapest), see website below which states: '(fl. 1857 -1890)Samuel Egger's "Budapester Manzen-, Mineralien-, und Antiquité ten-Comptoir" was operating at least as early as 1857. Originally he dealt only in rare coins and antiques, but later expanded to include mineral specimens. He was located at Herrengasse 5 in Budapest in 1867, and (as Egger S. & Co.) at Augustinerstr. 8 in 1888-1890. Eysser, J.A.; Biography: Firm of craftsmen who also sold their products based in Nürnberg, Germany. In 1882 J.A. Eysser (the company) was awarded a gold medal at the Bavarian trade fair and Georg Eysser bought a house in Nuremberg and used it as a warehouse for furniture and arts and crafts things. By 1890 the firm had 190 employees.
