Description:
A tawny bull-calf (markings known as mayan) tethered to a peg, provided by a spear-master's sister's son, with members of the Pagong and Payi spear-master clans of the Agwok sub-tribe of the Rek Dinka surrounding it. Libation milk is being poured into a special gourd to the right, which will then be poured over the tethering peg. The occasion of this sacrifice was the recurring illness of the master of the fishing-spear, this time seemingly brought about by an unclaimed fishing-spear that had turned up in his homestead, said to have been left by a witch.
