The completion of the annexe containing Curator’s room, workshop and store-rooms on the south-west side of the building, rendered possible the throwing open to the public of the lower gallery in the October Term. A number of interesting series were thus made available for public use, the gallery having hitherto been kept closed, as being the only available space in which the work of the department could be carried on. The rooms have proved thoroughly satisfactory.  With a view to the admission of the public to the lower gallery, many of the series contained in it were re-arranged, labelled and catalogued.  The catalogues of the three series of musical instruments were completed to date.  A number of minor arrangements have been made throughout the building, and numerous labels, drawings etc., have been added.
