Pitt-Rivers was successful in purchasing 162 (or possibly 164, if the 2 lots said by the sale catalogue to have been bought by Behrens but listed in catalogue of 2nd collection are Pitt-Rivers] out of 900 lots sold on the 3 days between 12-14 March 1888. He spent a total of £105.2.6 over the three days on 263 objects
