PRM000125869Cord of hair, possibly human, from a bone ornament, from Rapa Nui (Easter Island); part of the Forster collection (part of Forster 131 or 132; 1886.1.1544.2)

Cord of plaited human hair for suspension of bone ornament. [See 1886.1.1544 .1]. At the knotted end plant material is incorporated. The cord appears to be too thick to pass through the hole carved in the bone pendant associated with it - however the cord is frayed at the centre of the loop, and may have been used to hold a pendant
