Necklace, of bird bone and shell, from Tonga; part of the Forster collection (part of Forster 98; 1886.1.1575)

Necklace of strung bundles of bird wing bones and small brown shells. The 11 bundles of bird wing bones alternate with bunches of brown univalve shells (Planaxis niger). There are between ten and eleven bones in each bundle. Twisted fibre thread is exposed at each end
