  Figure, ti′i, of wood, from the Society Islands (probably Tahiti); part of the Forster collection (Forster 38; 1886.1.1424) 
Figure in female form, carved from heavy wood, with rounded shoulders, a brow line and cap, and a vulva. The hands are placed asymmetrically, which is unusual in figures from the Society Islands. The damage to the base of the figure suggests that it was from part of a larger object, possibly a canoe prow.
