Mechanical toy, India

Mechanical drum toys, like this one in the form of a two-wheeled cart, are common in India. When the cart is pulled along, the small square-shaped pieces of wood mounted on the wheels’ axle flick the ends of the drumsticks, causing them to beat the drum. The toy is made of pottery, wood, and animal hide.
