Beads from grave, Peru

Beads have been worn to decorate the body, to communicate status or identity, to display wealth, or as amulets to protect the wearer. The importance of beads in many cultures, and the durable materials from which they are often made, mean they are the most common ornament unearthed from ancient graves. These beads were found in a grave in Peru.
