The southern side of the Barkhor in Lhasa looking east. The building in the background facing the viewer is Nang rong shar. Immediately to the right is Pomdatsang, the former Tsarong house. In the foreground on the right is Kyakhashar the roof of which is decorated with prayer flags. The photograph was most probably taken from Kapsho house. The buildings on the left are, in the foreground, Labrang Nyingba and the Surkhang house is behind it. It has shop awnings visible at ground level.
