Arrow, of reed and wood, from Malakula, Vanuatu; part of the Forster collection (part of Forster 144; 1886.1.1191)
Arrow with reed shaft and wooden head. There is a binding made from plant material (possibly hibiscus fibre) at the head, which is notched at the point, suggesting that originally there was a bone (?) head attached. The end of the arrow is deeply notched, and the reed is bound with plant fibre below the notch to prevent splitting
