Head-rest, kali, of wood, from Tonga; part of the Forster collection (Forster 95; 1886.1.1419)
Headrest carved from a single piece of wood. The top is convex, and widens towards the ends. The legs are horseshoe-shaped. One leg has a plaited coconut cord tied around it. Legs have been carved so that there is a thin brace or cross-rail of wood between the front two and back two legs. One of these wooden braces is broken. There is a hole on the top of the headrest at one end.
