Nose-flute, vivo, of bamboo and coconut fibre, from the Society Islands (probably Tahiti); part of the Forster collection (Forster 26; 1886.1.1530)
Nose flute of bamboo closed by node at one end. It has been bound by two sections of plaited coconut fibre bindings near the open end, with a hole between them. The bindings are in two different shades of brown; one pale and one darker. There are two larger holes near the closed end.
