Comb, heru of whalebone, from New Zealand; part of the Forster collection (Forster 171; 1886.1.1162)

Comb of whalebone with, originally, 20 teeth (18 survive). The top of the comb is rounded, and there is an oval shape, probably a simplified manaia figure, carved on one side.
