Description

A snap-shot of a Luo man wearing a traditional woven hat on which is stuck a number of warthog teeth (lak njiri) and probably a hippo tooth (lak rawo). Another hippo tooth hangs from the neck across his chest. The man's neck is heavily adorned by glass bead necklaces (tik ngut) and he is also wearing cowrie shell decoration over his hand. This man is certainly an elder of status, and may be dressed for a ceremony. [Gilbert Oteyo 9/9/2004 & CM 16/03/2007]
