These men are described in the original notes as elders of Agoro, that is, the Agoro Clan of Alego Location, Siaya District. They are truly elders (jodongo) judging by their age, and their clothing is an interesting mixture of coastal, Luo and European. They both wear long white robes (kandho or kanzu). The one to the left has a traditional bead headdress (ogut tigo), a walking pole (luth) and a wrist ring (minyonge) on his wrist. The elder to the right has a hat made from a natural fibre of some sort, with feathers. The third person to the right seems to be a woman wearing a hat woven out of local grass.
