This is a section of the Sondu River between Nyakach and Kabondo Locations in South Nyanza District. The Sondu River starts in the Nandi and Kipsigis highlands and flows down through the steep gorges of Nyakach and Kabondo Hills and into Lake Victoria in the southern part of Kavirondo (Winam) Gulf.
