Key Information

Description

A formal group photograph of Luo men in European clothing outside a large thatched building. Note also four different kinds of western hats (not helmets) worn by some of them. Some are seated on a wooden bench outside the thatch house, which is only partially seen but seems to fit some of the colonial administrative bomas built for administration purposes in rural areas. It could be even a local African administrator's home. [Gilbert Oteyo 9/9/2004]

Research Notes

The word jogono in the original documentation is still unfamiliar although close to the word jodongo (old men) but these men seem rather young to be called old men. [Gilbert Oteyo 9/9/2004]
