A group of important men from Asembo bay. Their way of dressing shows their dignity, wealth and status. One has a respect sword, two are smoking tobacco pipes (kwesi), two are wearing beadwork headdresses (ogut tigo) while others are wearing new Western hats. One man is also adorned with a hippo tusk (lak rawo) or warthog tusk (lak mbeche) attached to to his hat (ogudu). All these items were very expensive to buy in 1936. [Gilbert Oteyo 9/9/2004]
