Men from Kogelo clan driving cattle to a funeral ceremony somewhere in Alego Location. In particular they are driving bulls, which is significant since it is often only bulls that are driven to a funeral as part of mourning. The three men are all dressed in their ceremonial gear. The front man in long robe (kanzu or kandho), a western type hat (ogudu) and a walking stick (luth). He is evidently a wealthy elder who can afford relatively expensive items of European style clothing, and he is seen here driving the cattle with a switch. The other two men are wearing cowry shell headdresses (ogut gagi) from which protrude upwards a short pole on which is tied a plume of animal hair. [Gilbert Oteyo 9/9/2004]
