Edward Evan Evans-Pritchard
This man is sitting on a wooden chair outside his grass thatch hut. He is clean shaved using an iron blade (nyamarich) except a small patch on top center of his head, He has an ostrich eggshell necklace (rek) and glass bead earrings of the type worn by men (ngaga). His clothing is simply of animal (cow?) skin (pien), which was a common Luo attire. Beyond him, looking back toward the camera is another man dressed in colonial service clothing.
