Description

A view of Kano Plains in Kisumu district. The Nandi escarpment, which marks the beginning of it, is seen in the background. In this flat very open area, homesteads as seen here are spread all across the plain to form numerous villages. Kano is one of the most densely populated areas of Luo Country. Floods from the watershed Nandi Escarpment cause havoc here annually with houses, crops and cattle often being swept away. [Gilbert Oteyo 9/9/2004]
