Description

This area is identified as Kano, a location in Kisumu District. It is a typical environment of a village or homestead on the comparatively dry terrain of the so-called Kano Plains, which stretch from the Nandi Escarpment to Lake Victoria. The homestead is seen here heavily fenced with tall euphorbia trees, and with cattle wondering in the open area outside the homestead, perhaps during a period when crops are not growing and so herdsmen have not to worry about them eating them.
